Position Summary:

We have an exceptional career opportunity for a Staff Accountant. Located at our headquarters in Anaheim, the position interfaces with our 16 field service centers nationwide and with all levels of the organization. Responsibilities include:

Perform month-end close duties including journal entry preparation and account reconciliation.
Reconcile various accounts including cash, inventory and fixed assets and reconciling purchases made to contracts.
Assist in completing various tasks requested by management, as needed.
Analyze and reconcile various contracts to determine their profitability.
Interact with various field personnel on a variety of projects.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred.

· 2+ years work experience in financial analysis or accounting.

· Good understanding of corporate financial principles. Strong accounting and GAAP knowledge.

· Excellent personal computer skills and advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred. Hyperion (Pillar, ESSBASE) knowledge desired.

· Superior analytical skills.

· Able to rely on prior experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

· Able to communicate and work effectively with people at all levels of the company.

· Well organized, accurate, thorough, and detail-oriented.

I think that the most impactful moments in our lives, the ones that shape us and the ones that scar us, are not always the biggest milestones and events but the little things that happen every day.

It's our interactions with one another: when one extends a helping hand, a hug, a word of encouragement, or when someone uses a racial slur, or calls into question our personal self-worth, etc. It can make or break your day and for some of us doesn't leave our psyche for years to come.

For me, it's the little things that can make a big difference and causes someone else to "pay it forward": like helping a stranger find a job, telling someone you appreciate their courteous service, or complimenting someone on a job well done.

Thus, I have the "How Can I Help?" category in my blog for others to submit questions\concerns on where they can offer help or may need some assistance (short of monetary donation requests).

The purpose? Essentially to get people thinking about "Paying It Forward" -- that giving isn't always writing a check or ensuring that you help the most destitute in society. Sometimes it's about giving a word of encouragement, or helping a friend of a friend.

It's about looking within yourself, based on your own history and passion to find what compels you to give and make someone's life just a little bit sweeter...yours included.
